Hyplay F.A.Q.
First of all, Hyplay is a FREE BETA. You have to know that Beta means I do my best to make it robust, but there are bugs left. So, if you have a problem, try first to find an answer on this page. I you do not find an answer, send me an email. I regularly fix bugs to improve Hyplay, so come back regularly.
| 1. What is required to install Hyplay ? |
You need a Windows OS (98/ME/2000/XP) and Windows Media Player 6.4. or higher. Windows Media Player 6.4 is already installed on Windows ME/2000/XP. If you have another version of Windows (not recommended...), install Windows Media Player version 9 first. If you want to play a Quicktime movie, you must have Quicktime installed. If you want to play a RealPlayer movie, you must have RealPlayer installed. When you want to play an .avi file, be sure you have the audio and video codecs installed. |
| 2. Playback is slow, what can I do ? |
At first, try to install DirectX 9 (Microsoft DirectX 9 download page). If nothing changes, it's probably because your PC is too slow for the realtime overlay rendering of Hyplay, sorry. I regularly try to improve Hyplay's performances, so come back regularly.

| 3. Hyplay can't play my .avi file. What can I do ? |
In many cases, .avi problems are codecs problems. Check that you have the right audio and video codecs installed to play your clip. The best .avi diagnostic tool I know is GSpot (GSpot Website). If you want to play a DivX file, you need a Divx Codec. See download page for codecs links. |
